Markfield Congregational Community Church

Radfield Home Care Loughborough, Charnwood & Melton Mowbray is proud to partner with Markfield Congregational Community Church and Minister Rob Hunter to support the Markfield Memory Café. This free monthly event provides a welcoming space for people living with dementia and their carers to engage in activities and connect with others. Akash, Radfield’s director, has been involved from the beginning, assisting with planning and funding.

The café offers a variety of activities, including quizzes, word searches, musical bingo, bocce, and seated exercises. These provide social interaction for attendees and respite for carers, creating a hub for support within the community.

Minister Rob Hunter commented: “Akash at Radfield Home Care has allowed us to get the Markfield memory café off the ground due to his experience volunteering at AgeUK’s memory cafes. Akash has not only helped with the activities but also invited resourceful individuals to our sessions such as social prescribers to advise our attendees on funding, navigating through the care system and other beneficial advice.”
