James, co-owner and director of Radfield Home Care Stamford, Peterborough & Rutland has gained a wealth of knowledge in healthcare as well as invaluable experience across other business sectors.
After gaining a BA (Hons) in Politics from Reading University, James trained as an Army Officer at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, where he developed hands on leadership skills. James subsequently held senior roles with several blue chip companies, including Boots and Kimberly-Clark, where he gained high levels of experience in operational management, commercial management and new business development.
Over the last 10 years, James held the position of Regional Director for Ramsay Health Care’s private hospital business. This has helped to fulfil a long held desire to work in a caring environment, as well as equipping him with a good understanding of the operational and regulatory requirements in health and social care.
James had always wanted to run his own business and explains,
“Having made the decision to take redundancy after 15 years at Ramsay Health Care, a home care business was the obvious opportunity. We both love Stamford and its surrounds and quickly came to realise that starting a worthwhile and caring business that can really make a contribution to the area in which we have lived and raised our three children, was what we wanted to do.”
“We both bring good generic skills to the care sector, particularly organisation, planning, business development and commercial capabilities, and know how important it is to be caring, kind and respectful, but also how critical it is to be reliable for those who use the service. As a couple, we take great pride in our reliability and strong organisational skills!”
