The Memory Action Group Charity (MAG) was founded in 2018 by Jan Archbold, spurred by her personal experience when a close loved one was diagnosed with Dementia. Jan was inspired to advocate for greater recognition of the condition and to expand support services for those affected.
Initially established as a peer support group, MAG has evolved to offer inclusive drop-in sessions for individuals living with dementia and their families. The sessions provide refreshments, activities, games, information, support, day trips, entertainers & friendship and take place every Wednesday and Friday from 2-4pm at Wakefield Methodist Church.
Jackie Gillen, Owner & Director Radfield Home Care Wakefield says:
“It is our absolute pleasure to work with Jan and support the Memory Action Group who provide vital support to those living with dementia and their families. Through funded training, fundraising initiatives, and staff volunteering at drop-in sessions, we remain steadfast in our commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of others in our community.”
Whilst we consider Memory Action Group a key important community partner, Radfield Home Care are not affiliated with MAG. For further details and reservations, please reach out to Jan at [email protected] / tel:07963 568 892.
