We would like to introduce you to Charlie Lovegrove, Marketing Coordinator for Radfield Home Care Havering & Romford. Charlie provides support in the office, working with the Operations Director as well as the wider team to improve the delivery of marketing activities.
Charlie joined us at Radfield Home Care Havering & Romford in May 2021 and never looked back. Charlie’s interest in person-centred studies at school helped them understand the importance of interacting with older people, their wellbeing and the importance of companionship.
Joining the care sector has given Charlie first-hand insight into the important role that Care professionals play in the community and society as a whole.
“As an aspiring Psychologist, working within social care has helped to enhance my knowledge of psychology in a practical sense, particularly in terms of understanding Dementia Care and care for other neurological diseases. I have also seen the true benefits of companionship care, and how Radfield’s #BeThere message is so important.”
Charlie is currently studying to obtain a degree in Psychology at the University of Greenwich and in the process has gained a strong understanding of mental difficulties that older people may experience. This understanding is applied to every aspect of their work, be it social media content, display creation and Care Professional/client monthly communications.
“I am quite a creative person, which helps particularly when I am creating new content to engage current and potential clients and Care Professionals. I attend our recruitment and client marketing events to support Andrea – Recruitment Manager and Lisa – Owner, in the growth of the business, I aim to be a confident and outgoing person too. This is particularly important as I hold an active role in networking and business promotion within our wider community.”
In addition to their position at Radfield Home Care Havering & Romford, Charlie is a volunteer Beaver leader – providing young people with important life skills and encouraging them to be active in the community.
Charlie attends many of the client events with other team members, with the aim of promoting the Radfield #BeThere movement, raising awareness for mental health difficulties and supporting clients in getting back into the local community.
“My main inspiration comes from my Grandad, who experienced over 20 years of cancer treatment and the role that the sector played in caring for him over that extended period of time was inspiring to me. It is nice to join an often underrepresented sector in society that is so important for the mental and physical well-being of many individuals.
Working in the care sector has opened my eyes to the realities faced by both care workers and clients, especially through the pandemic. I really enjoy my role here at Radfield and can see the real difference that we make to our clients and care teams lives.”
