We would like to introduce you to Faith Dickson, care coordinator for Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale. Faith is responsible for the creation and management of the rotas for clients and Care Professionals, liaising with clients, families and professionals to manage care needs and staff deployment and supporting the registered manager with safe running of the office.
Faith joins Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale with almost a decade of experience in the care sector. She started her journey as a support worker, helping young adults in their homes and their wider daily lives. Over the five years she spent in the role she would help them go to college, socialise and even go on holiday.
Faith decided to make a change and switched to focussing on older people, she tells us:
“I changed my role and went into a care home as a Senior Care Professional at the start of 2021 during the pandemic. This was a very challenging time to start a new role alongside the covid outbreak and continuing changing of rules, with families unable to see relatives.”
Faith’s variety in care helping both young and old, coupled with her previous experience in the role of Care Professional will give her tools she needs to relate to both clients and Care Professionals that are out in the field. Understanding the challenges facing both clients and field staff makes her ideal for the role.
“I find it very rewarding to support people in their daily lives hoping that we can give the best care so they fulfil everything they want to do in life. I love meeting new people.”
Faith completed her NVQ level 3 in 2019 and is waiting for the right time to delve into a level 5 qualification. She’s also completed and attained a train the trainer qualification, which is ideal for helping others in the sector. We are glad to have Faith on board and can’t wait for you to meet her.
