Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale is delighted to announce a heartwarming collaboration with Huntington School to bring festive cheer to their elderly clients.
Through this partnership, Year 7 pupils from Huntington School have dedicated their time and creativity to design over 200 Christmas cards that will be distributed to Radfield’s elderly clients across the community.
The initiative aims to bridge the generation gap, fostering connections between young students and the elderly during the holiday season. The thoughtful and personalised Christmas cards, designed by the talented Year 7 pupils, will undoubtedly bring smiles to the faces of Radfield’s elderly clients, many of whom may be spending the holidays alone.
York’s only home care provider to achieve Outstanding Status by the Care Quality Commission, Radfield Home Care is committed to enhancing the well-being of their clients by not only providing high-quality care but also by creating meaningful experiences that promote a sense of community and joy. This collaboration with Huntington School aligns perfectly with Radfield’s values, demonstrating the power of intergenerational connections and the positive impact it can have on the lives of seniors.
Ed Gill, Director at Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale comments:
“Each year we try to do a collaboration between the young people of York and our clients at Christmas time. This year’s partnership with Huntington School has been marvellous to get so many people involved and have such bespoke take on Christmas cards for our clients.
We support our clients 365 days a year, but many may still be quite isolated over the festive period and these cards will bring a real smile to many of our clients which is always so wonderful to see. We want to say a huge thank you to the Year 7 pupils for their support.”
The Christmas card designs cover a range of festive themes, from traditional winter scenes to modern and creative interpretations of the holiday spirit. Each card is a unique work of art, reflecting the diverse talents and imagination of the Year 7 pupils involved in the project.
Paula Edward’s, PA to the Headteacher at Huntington School, helped to coordinate the collaboration and was excited about the project, stating:
“We are thrilled to partner with Radfield Home Care for this heartwarming project. Our students have embraced the opportunity to spread joy to the elderly members of our community, and we believe this experience will be rewarding for both the students and the recipients of their beautiful Christmas cards.”
Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale is grateful for the enthusiastic participation of Huntington School and the dedication of the Year 7 pupils involved in this initiative. The collaborative effort reflects the spirit of community and the importance of creating lasting connections across generations.
