Radfield wins prestigious ‘Employer of the Year’ award

Radfield Home Care Harrogate, Wetherby and North Yorkshire, a leading specialist home care provider, is celebrating its success in being named ’employer of the year’, an esteemed category of the Harrogate Excellence in Business Awards 2020.

Having originally been shortlisted for the award in March 2020, and due to current Covid-19 social restrictions, the award ceremony was delayed and became an online experience with Radfield Home Care Harrogate, Wetherby and North Yorkshire’s co-director Matthew Nutting watching keenly at home for the big award reveal. Matthew describes his reaction to the news:

“This award is really a testament to the incredible staff team we are lucky to have working alongside us. A family culture of support and dedication, to each other as well as our valued clients, has been developed as a collective rather than just one person.”

The employer of the year award recognises those businesses that have shown ‘pre-eminent commitment to the development and welfare of its people, by encouraging communication, creativity and proactivity throughout the organisation’. In particular, the awards called for a ‘genuine commitment to, and trust in, its people leads to success in business’ – a commitment that Matthew is passionate to uphold as he explains:

“We are dedicated to the development of our staff, helping them to build their knowledge, skills, and confidence. Full time guaranteed hour contracts with guaranteed annual pay reviews gives our carers security – this means they can relax into their role and grow daily in their confidence and competence to become the best social care professionals they can possibly be. As employers we are merely there to support our staff and give them the tools they need to flourish.”
