Jackie our Registered Manager & Director in our local office has successfully completed her Dementia Friends Champion Training. Jackie can now deliver information sessions as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Society to family, friends, staff and the wider Wakefield and Huddersfield community to encourage others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia.
To become a Dementia Friend all you need to do is understand the 5 key messages that everyone should know about Dementia and then commit to take a dementia friendly action.
Jackie Gillen, Registered Manager & Director says
“By taking one small step and joining the social action movement DementiaFriends and committing to taking a dementia friendly action, this can make a huge difference to people living with dementia. Becoming a Dementia Friend Champion has really enlightened me on the small things that everyone can do to make a positive difference in people’s lives. I am looking forward to delivering information sessions and sharing the 5 key messages to people living locally.”
If you would like to learn more about what it is like to live with dementia and turn that into action, we will be running Dementia Friends information sessions shortly.
Thank you to @DementiaFriends Officer Helen Donald for providing a very engaging and informative training session. If you would like to become a Dementia Friends Champion please contact www.DementiaFriends.org.uk for more information.
