Keeping entertained and having chance to relax is so important at the moment and Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury have been keeping their care professionals entertained by arranging a bingo session for them, albeit with a virtual twist!
The covid pandemic has seen a great number of pressures placed upon the health and social care sector, with many seeing experiencing the increasing demands for care and support. Radfield’s carers have truly met this head on with a fantastic attitude of positivity and professionalism, something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Gemma Bristow, registered care manager of Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury. Gemma describes the virtual bingo event, and what was on offer:
“As a big thank you we organised a virtual bingo afternoon for our wonderful team of care professionals. Surprise bingo boxes were posted out to our care team and to make sure as many could join we ran the bingo event on two different afternoons. As we are unable to have get-togethers at the minute we wanted to come up with a great way to keep in touch socially as a team and have some fun – it’s so important we all feel connected and supported as a team.
The bingo boxes we posted included the game cards, a bingo dabber and also some other treat essentials – refreshments, chocolate and a face pack! The prizes on offer included chocolates and pamper items and it was lovely to be able to send these out to the winners.”
With Debbie Robinson, care coordinator, described as ‘the best bingo caller ever’ reading out the numbers and Gemma, keeping a keen eye as bingo adjudicator, the event was a great success leading to fantastic feedback from the carers such as:
“I had a really good time, thank you and it was lovely to see everyone! X” – Lisa Leech
“Well done Katie and Lisa! It was lovely to see everyone” – Clare Walker
