Winter Care in Ormskirk: Helping Older People Stay Warm and Safe

As winter approaches and financial pressures rise, staying warm becomes an increasing challenge for many members of Ormskirk’s older community. With the ongoing rise in the cost of living, keeping comfortable and safe this season is more important than ever. As a result, winter support in Ormskirk and surrounding areas is a priority for both families and care providers.

At Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, we are excited to introduce the Winter Warmer Community Partnership—a vital collaboration to help provide affordable warmth for those in need of care. This initiative is focused on offering practical support to ensure no one in our local community has to face the cold alone.

Partnering with Local Heroes

We are proud to partner with local businesses and charity shops, such as Woodlands Hospice, to offer affordable and warm clothing in our community. Known for their fantastic value and unique treasures, Woodlands Hospice charity shops are stocked with essential winter items like scarves, gloves, hats, and cosy clothing. This winter, they have expanded their selection to ensure residents can access affordable warmth without breaking the bank.

This collaboration is a true demonstration of how we can work together as a community to support older people in Ormskirk and surrounding areas, keeping them warm, safe, and well-cared for.

Giving Back to the Ormskirk Community

At Radfield Home Care, we are committed to providing more than just personalised home care in Ormskirk. We aim to make a meaningful impact by strengthening the bonds of our community, ensuring that older people have the support they need to thrive during the colder months.

I, Lesley Malone, am proud to be part of our Winter Warmer Community Partnership. Alongside two dedicated volunteers, I dedicate two hours each week at the Woodlands Hospice charity shop in the lead-up to the festive season. During this time, we assist customers, stock shelves, and spread the word about this vital initiative, ensuring our older community members can focus on staying warm and comfortable this winter.

Join Our Winter Warmer Mission

Together, we can make a real difference this winter. Here’s how you can get involved in the Winter Warmer Community Partnership:

  • Visit the Woodlands Hospice charity shop in Ormskirk: Explore the selection of affordable, high-quality clothing to keep you or loved ones warm.
  • Donate warm clothing: Scarves, gloves, jumpers, and other winter essentials are greatly needed and can make a significant impact on someone’s comfort this season.
  • Spread the word: Help ensure no one in Ormskirk has to face the cold alone by sharing this initiative with friends, family, and neighbours, especially those who may need this vital support.

This winter, let’s unite as a community to ensure everyone in Ormskirk stays warm, safe, and well-supported. Visit Woodlands Hospice charity shop, or contact Radfield Home Care for more details on how you can get involved in the Winter Warmer Community Partnership.
