Radfield clients enjoy a weekly community lunch in Waterloo

Radfield Home Care Liverpool North continually strives to put their clients at the heart of everything they do. Maintaining a client’s wellbeing and promoting independence is always the focus and many of the Liverpool North clients benefit from regular outings with their carers into the local community, with activities including shopping, attending appointments and meeting up with friends and the wider community in clubs that support older people.

Radfield clients greatly benefit from one particular local centre, Waterloo Community Kitchen, which provides a delicious meal for older people in its community, with 2 and 3 course lunches available for a minimal charge, completely supported and run by volunteers; a fantastic opportunity for locals to get together weekly.

As a regular activity the Liverpool North office take a number of their clients to lunch at the Waterloo Community Centre every week. Dave Bellis, owner and director explains, “We take two of our clients every Thursday to the community event which they really enjoy. The food is fantastic and really good value. All the helpers there are volunteers and it’s just a brilliant community event enjoyed by all. It’s not just the clients that enjoy the event, but our staff do too. It also provides a great opportunity for people to get together and have a chat over lunch.”

A son of one of the clients who regularly attends the lunch club explained, “Dad always comments saying, “it’s a nice friendly place with people to talk to and the food is great”. As his son, I feel he’s being well looked after and in a safe happy environment, which is comforting.”
