The Radfield Worcester branch held a cupcake sale with The Dementia Workshop Group in Droitwich (#DementiaFriends), to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society. Everyone worked hard baking cakes, along with some lovely cake donations from Waitrose and Morrisons in Droitwich too.
Sam Arnold, the Manager of The Dementia Workshop, commented,
“We were overwhelmed by the generosity of people who donated the cakes and are thankful to everyone who helped to sell them on the day. Carers and families really value the service we provide and their much-needed respite wouldn’t be possible without our workshop.”
Whilst the cupcake sale was progressing in Droitwich, the staff at the Worcester branch were out and about in the centre of Worcester, selling cakes to passersby. The office was also open for our carers and clients; teas and coffees and a tasty cake and even a competition were all on offer!
One in three of us will get Dementia, which is a disturbing statistic, so all of this fundraising is important as it helps to raise further awareness of this disease and more importantly, raise money for more research into a cure for the future.
Angela, Registered Care Manager for the Worcester branch commented,
“A big thank you to all of our carers and staff at our Radfield branch. Also, we would like to thank The Bell Inn in St John’s, The Dementia Cafe in Droitwich, not to mention Morrisons and Waitrose in Droitwich for their kind cake donations. Everyone had an amazing day, resulting in a huge amount of money raised totalling £469.18 for The Alzheimer’s Society.”
