Clare is helping to change Hilda’s life with every visit

Meet Hilda, she’s been a client at our Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern office for the last seven years or so and to us, she’s part of the family.

Hilda experiences short term memory loss, which can make it difficult to live alone without daily help. That’s where Clare comes in.

This is Clare, a fantastic Care Professional and now a good friend to Hilda. Clare has been with us for six years and in that time she has helped change the lives of many of our clients. Hilda spends a lot of time at home on her own and really looks forward to her care visits. It gives her the opportunity to have a good natter and a cup of tea with someone.

Sometimes all it takes is a cup of tea

For some clients, a Care Professional might be the only person they see that day, often creating a very special bond between the two. We are on a mission to help the nation age well and remain connected. The simple act of having a chat over a cup of tea can help them stay connected to the world around them and make a total difference to someone’s life. Clare tells us:

“I love visiting Hilda and making sure she is happy and has all she needs. The social interaction is really important to her so I always take time to have a chat.“

Clare supports Hilda throughout the week with her personal care, administering eye drops and preparing the food that she loves. Hilda tells us:

“The carers prepare my food and I love a cup of tea! I am on my own a lot and the carers are always up for a chat and a laugh which makes my day. I really look forward to Clare coming in and she is always so kind and helpful, always willing to help with anything I need and always checks I am comfortable before she leaves.”

A flexible role to fit her lifestyle

Clare really enjoys life as a Care Professional, due to the nature of the role, the hours are flexible and she can fit work around family time as needed.

“The training provided is of a high standard and I’d definitely recommend it to others. The training within the role has given me a deeper understanding of care. I’m always reading up on the care plans before a visit to make sure the clients needs are fully understood.”
