Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne and South Derbyshire, a leading home care provider, is proud to reflect upon its recent success of maintaining essential, safe and high quality care to clients throughout the Covid pandemic. It has also recently celebrated the achievement of ‘Top 20 Home Care Provider’ status awarded by leading home care review website, homecare.co.uk.
Covid has presented care providers with an unprecedented range of complex and demanding issues, such as interpreting rapidly changing legislation and ensuring access to key safety equipment such as personal protective equipment (PPE). Director of Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne and South Derbyshire, Sam Adie, has been meeting these demands head on and has led the implementation of their responsive coronavirus strategy which ensures the safety of their clients and carers – focusing heavily upon infection control.
“It certainly has been a challenging few months but the welfare of our staff and clients is paramount. We have ensured that we have had all the relevant PPE and that our staff have, and continue to have, Covid-19 packs consisting of a visor, goggles, facemasks, gloves, shoe coverings & hand gel. They have all had Covid-19 training and been kept up to date with all the current legislation. We have also taken extra steps when visiting our clients. We ensure that all door handles and equipment that we have touched are disinfected at the end of every visit.”
Adjustments have been made across the board to ensure safety for all, with Sam confirming, “We are proud to confirm that, to date, we have had no reported Covid-19 cases with any of our staff or clients.”
Jessica Jenkinson, Radfield Home Care’s governance & operations manager, has expressed her appreciation for the hard work undertaken by the team, “During the pandemic Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne and South Derbyshire have shown their ability to adapt their service throughout the crisis. Guidance and legislation has been changing rapidly and they have flexed and adapted their services to ensure care provision continues in line with up to date Government Guidance. Care teams have been provided with comprehensive guidance and support to allow them to deliver a safe and caring service through the challenges posed by COVID-19.”
