A special Be There Moment, where the Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby team came together to memorialise a client’s faithful companion, has been recognised as the winner of the ‘Be There Moment of the Year 2024’ award.
On Tuesday, 12th March, the Radfield Home Care franchise network donned their best attire for the much anticipated annual awards ceremony at the Radfield Home Care Conference 2024. This year’s event was named the “Connections Conference”, to emphasise the importance of connections between care clients, care teams, businesses, local communities and offices within the franchise network.
The Connections Conference introduced the inaugural Be There awards, an award to recognise moments where the office team, or individuals had gone above and beyond to help a client, colleague or member of the community Be Connected, Be Inspired and/or Be Themselves. The Be There Movement is Radfield Home Care’s distillation of their purpose into something tangible and actionable. Radfield’s purpose is to help people age well by remaining connected to the things that matter most to them. Be There is both a noun and call to action, as Being There is what it takes to help people retain those important connections and memories in their life.
Rosemary has been a client with Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby since early 2023. Rosemary lives with dementia and it was immediately clear to the team that she had a special bond with her dog, Amber. Amber was an old Golden Retriever with sight loss and the pair were inseparable, to the point the care team would joke that they were getting in the way of Amber’s care. Despite the dementia, Rosemary always had time for Amber and referred to her as “My Treasure”. Sadly, in late 2023, Amber passed away. Knowing how upsetting and confusing this would be for Rosemary, the care team came together to build a memorial to Amber in Rosemary’s garden, Amber’s final resting place. Thanking them for their kind gesture, Rosemary’s daughter sent the team a letter expressing her gratitude.
The moment was put forward along with dozens of other entries from across the Radfield Home Care network, and at the awards ceremony was announced as the winner of the remaining three finalists. Touched by the many emotional and impactful moments, each of the top three finalists was awarded with a finalist award to recognise the outstanding work of the care team.
Sona Bharkhada, owner and director of Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby, describes her delight at being named the winner:
“The team and I are so proud to have won the Be There award which is so special as it represents to us what care should be about. I am honoured that the team’s hard work and relentless pursuit to make the lives of our clients better everyday has been recognised through this award. This accomplishment was a team effort and the entire team deserves the recognition for this win. I would like to thank the Radfield Home Care franchise for being a beacon of support and providing us with an opportunity to showcase how we deliver exceptional care as a network.”
Be There is about connecting with and supporting one another. For the Radfield Home Care franchise network, annual conferences allow each office to come together to share ideas, successes, and challenges to overcome. The Radfield Home Care Conference 2024 put a focus on these connections and the theme of “Connect, Grow, Succeed.” At Radfield Home Care, our franchise network gives us a distinct edge, as we are able to lean on one another to discuss and solve problems with like-minded business owners who are not being competed with.
Along with being a Be There award finalist, at Radfield Home Care Leicester East, Groby & Oadby we are proud to be a part of a network that has been named a top 20 home care provider by homecare.co.uk for six consecutive years.
