With an estimated 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK, it’s important for those affected and their families to know where they can access the support they need. That’s why national home care provider Radfield Home Care are proud to be sponsoring the upcoming Dementia Support Information Day, taking place Thursday 18th May, 10 am to 3 pm, at Shrewsbury Town Football Club, Montgomery Waters Meadow, Oteley Road, Shrewsbury, SY2 6ST.
We understand how challenging it can be to navigate the complexities of dementia care. So, we decided to bring together a range of organisations and resources to provide you with the information and support you need. This event will be an opportunity for people affected by dementia to get the advice and assistance they need.
At this free event, you can expect to find out more about:
The event will have representatives from various organisations across Shropshire who can provide information on the services they offer to those living with dementia, their families and Care Professionals. This includes:
In Shropshire, there are a range of support options available, such as home care, respite care and day care. Home care services help those living with dementia to remain living independently in their own homes. Respite care offers a break for family carers, giving them a chance to rest and recharge. Day care offers a range of activities and therapeutic interventions within a safe and secure environment.
The Dementia Support Information Day is sponsored by Co-Op, Reech Media, Integrated Care System Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin Dementia Action Alliance and Radfield Home Care. The event is also supported by Shropshire Council and Age UK, Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.

This special dementia information event is being organised by Karen Corcoran, Business Performance Manager at Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury & Oswestry.
She said:
“Living with dementia or a loved one with dementia is extremely challenging. I found that for many of our clients, it is difficult to find readily available information about dementia and Alzheimer’s and available support in their local area. Not having enough, or any information about dementia, when someone close to you develops symptoms is terrifying and this is my attempt to address that.
The Dementia Support Information Day is an opportunity for us to bring together support and information about dementia from across Shropshire under one roof. This will provide people with a free one-stop event where they can find out everything they need to know about dementia and the available support.”
At Radfield Home Care, we believe that everyone should have access to the best possible care. We provide tailored home care packages that are designed to meet the individual needs of our clients and help them age well. Our Care Professionals are experienced in providing compassionate care and support to those living with dementia and their families.
The Dementia Support Information Day is a fantastic opportunity for those affected by dementia to access the advice and assistance they need. If you would like further information about the event or Radfield Home Care’s services, please call Karen Corcoran on 01743 245 555 or email [email protected].
