Radfield Home Care Havering led the way with their Elf Day this Christmas. Jennie, co-director explains,
“We were so excited to be a part of this and absolutely loved having lots of fun and spreading the word in the local community for such a good cause – the Alzheimer’s Society this Xmas”.
What: Alzheimer’s Society Elf day.
Date: Friday, 7th December 2018.

Elf Day is the Alzheimer’s Society’s fabulous festive fundraiser designed to get you in the Christmas spirit whilst raising money to help beat dementia. The idea behind the event is to unleash your inner elf by dressing up – as much or as little as you like. Keep it simple with red and green, or jingle all the way with pointy ears and curly shoes.
Jennie, co-director explains,
“For Elf Day we wanted the Havering community to bring out their inner Elf! Our whole office dressed up as elves and our incredible care team went out to visit our clients wearing stripy socks with their uniforms to get into the ‘Elf’ spirit. This provided a great opportunity to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is a cause close to all of our hearts. We truly care for the people in the Havering community who live with Dementia and we are really passionate about making a difference to their lives. Research into this condition is very much needed to bring more understanding and awareness into the community, and support those who live with this disease.”

On Elf day, our Director Jennie, and our Apprentice Lauren, drove around the community in the Radfield Home Care branded car, dressed as Elves and with their Santa sacks full of gifts for their clients! They went around the community dropping Christmas gifts and cards to their clients and wishing them a very merry Christmas. They even went to Queen’s hospital to surprise one of their client’s who had recently been admitted and it absolutely made her day! All our clients were extremely pleased to see us and we have had some wonderful messages from families saying how happy their loved one was after the visit.
We are really proud to say that we raised a fantastic £131.21 which was a result of all the support from local businesses, our clients and carers. A special thanks to Charlotte’s nan who made us gorgeous Christmas cupcakes in the office.
If you would like to donate, please pop into the Havering office on Friday 7th December between 10 am and 4 pm and ring the bell for office 4 on the ground floor. It would be lovely to see you all and donations will be gratefully received.
