We’ve been supporting Age UK Barnet with their jubilee celebrations! Across the country everywhere you go are Union Jacks, scones, Pimm’s and parties as we all come together to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee.
On Saturday 11th I attended the Age UK Barnet event at the Ann Owens Centre in East Finchley with my family to attend and enjoy the event, it was such a wonderful and compelling experience that I just had to get involved. I rallied the team, we rolled up our sleeves, volunteered and got into the mix!
As part of our volunteer duties we manned the plant stall to raise money. There was a lovely little selection of yellows, pinks, and reds. It was such a delight to see so many people enjoy this wonderful community event. We loved meeting new people, chatting about the services we provide and finding new ways to help vulnerable people in the local area. We look forward to supporting Age UK and other community events in the future.
In between plant stall management we got some time to speak to the Mayor, Alison Moore and CEO of Age UK Barnet, Helen Newman. It was great getting to know them, they were both wonderful people and it was nice to see them at such a vibrant and important event.
