Radfield Home Care Wycombe continues to exceed the Real Living Wage for home carers

Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks is continuing to pay more than Real Living Wage, despite an increase in the recommended hourly rate.

As part of the organisation’s unique home care employee satisfaction programme, the Caring for our Carers pledge, Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks pays its carers £9.50 on weekdays and £11.50 on weekends. The Living Wage Foundation calculates the true cost of living and income requirements for employees and their families to live well every year, independent of government guidelines, and has recently increased this to £9.30 per hour meaning Radfield Home Care Wycombe remains above this true cost of living threshold.

Understanding and rewarding the valuable work care assistants undertake every day in the UK, Radfield Home Care operates its Caring for our Carers pledge across the country to support its home care professionals. As well as providing excellent rates of pay, Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks also offers career progression opportunities, employee recognition schemes and a supportive work environment to its care team.

Director of Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks, Matt Barnes said: “We are very passionate about supporting our care team here at Radfield. They do a tremendous job caring for vulnerable people in the community and it is only right we support them equally. Being Real Living Wage accredited demonstrates our commitment to our workforce, but by offering rates of pay above and beyond even their recommendations highlights we are willing to put our ‘money where our mouth is’ when we say we are here for our carers and offer them a supportive work environment. It is just one way we can say thank you.”

The current minimum government guidelines for hourly rates are dependent on age, whereas Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks rates will be paid to all care assistants regardless of their age. This will mean employees will earn up to £2.05 more than the equivalent age-based minimum wage.

As an accredited Living Wage Employer, Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks is also helping support the national shortage of social care workers by encouraging more individuals to consider working with people in home care jobs as a rewarding career in care.
