Radfield Home Care progress to Disability Confident Employer level two

Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks are pleased to announce that they have now progressed to Disability Confident Employer Level 2, within the DWP (Department for Work and Pensions) promoted Disability Confident framework.

The Disability Confident scheme enables companies to recruit and retain great people, whilst helping to draw from the widest possible pool of talent, secure high-quality, skilled and loyal staff plus improve employee morale and commitment by demonstrating that all employees are treated fairly.

It also helps customers and other businesses identify those employers who are committed to equality in the workplace.

Being Disability Confident helps us to access a greater pool of talent, and at a time when the social care sector is facing a significant labour and skills shortage.”

Katy Cresswell, Registered Manager added, “There are a number of ways we help people with disabilities to progress their career in care and commonly this includes assisting our carers who have dyslexia. People with dyslexia are often very practical and make excellent carers. To help them reach this potential we provide them with one-to-one training, assist with completing forms and provide verbal tests instead of written. We also have little touches which help, such as yellow transparent folders to read documents through (the coloured overlay can assist dyslexic reading) and our care app allows carers to dictate their notes.”
