A rewarding Career in Care

We would like to introduce you to Kerry Hills, Home Care Assistant for Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield and South Bucks. We asked Kerry to share her care journey with us. Prior to joining Radfield Home Care Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks, Kerry worked for another care provider for 4 years, however had previously worked in the freight industry in South Africa.

What has inspired you to want to be involved in the care sector?

I have always enjoyed spending time with my older members of my family and friends. Helping the older generation is something I just find very rewarding.

Why Radfield Home Care?

Radfield Home Care definitely shares the same caring family values as I have, and they look after their carers. Being paid for travel time in between my clients calls is also very good, and something that not all care providers pay for, which makes Radfield different.

How did you get to hear about the job opportunity?

I knew the directors of Radfied before they opened up the office, so as soon as they started Radfield Home Care in South Bucks, I knew I wanted to join them to provide exceptional care to the local communities in and around Wycombe.

What are your career aspirations?

I would like to progress in the company to become a supervisor and share my experiences with other members of the care team. We are currently looking at developing my career with a level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care which I am really excited about.

Any special moments with clients you would like to share?

I care for a client who had previously had a fall in the shower and had lost their confidence to shower or bathe again. Over the course of a few weeks, Katy our care manager and myself helped her regain her confidence and she now has assisted showers which she is delighted about. Her progress has been so rewarding!

What do you love most about your job and working for Radfield Home Care?

The role of home care assistant is extremely fulfilling and I work with a great team of carers, with a great support system in place. One of the best elements is the variety – every day is different and I love my clients!
