Care Manager

We would like to introduce you to Katherine Major, Care Manager for Radfield Home Care Crawley & Reigate. Katherine is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office and ensuring that the service is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led.

Katherine has 15 years of experience working in the Health & Social Care sector, working in a wide variety of settings and supporting people with varied needs. Prior to moving to Radfield Home Care Crawley & Reigate, Katherine was working as a Home Manager, managing a Residential Care Home for adults diagnosed with Learning Disabilities, Autism and various Mental Health conditions, and a Supported Living setting for adults with various Mental Health conditions and a forensic and/or substance misuse history. She was also delivering training on Positive Behaviour Support and crisis phase management.

Katherine shares:

“During my career, I have accumulated vast experience of working within residential, health, mental health and community settings. I initially started my journey with home care in 2005, where I supported residents in the Brighton and Hove area. I also started working in residential care homes for the elderly and patients living with cognitive and physical challenges around this time. I gained valuable experience, working in a hospice, that later helped me to provide end of life care for people in their own homes.”

Katherine understands not only the importance of supporting people through challenging times, but also the importance of leading a proficient and caring staff team by example, and that a consistent and cared for staff team inspires the best care and support for our clients.

“I believe that we all have an ethical responsibility to care for others in some way. I greatly value the privilege of supporting people, easing their challenges and to advocating for those who need support to have their voice heard. I have needed support in my life and I’ve been lucky enough to receive help from some truly wonderful people, who genuinely cared. I want others to know the comfort and confidence that this can bring and to feel empowered and valued.”
