At Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional home care services in Chester & Ellesmere Port, bridging the gap between professional care and heart-warming support. Our commitment recently caught the eye of the Lord Mayor of Chester, Cllr Razia Daniels, who visited our offices to experience firsthand the special recipe for success that we stand by.
Julie Scott, our founder and Chester mum-of-two, has always had a passion for baking. She established Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port in 2021 with a mission to help older people live independently and comfortably in their own homes. Julie’s dedication to baking sweet treats for both our employees and clients has earned her the nickname ‘Carey Berry,’ drawing inspiration from the famous TV baker Mary Berry.
During the Mayor’s visit, we shared our trademark lemon drizzle cake while offering a glimpse into the high-quality person-centred home care we provide daily. With over 32 dedicated Care Professionals and 64 clients, our care approach is encapsulated in our ‘Be There’ movement. This unique framework consists of three core principles:
Supporting people in defining, developing, and living their own identities.
Helping people to enjoy and get the most out of the relationships that matter to them.
Encouraging individuals to achieve meaningful goals, both big and small.
As part of her visit, the Lord Mayor explored our photo wall showcasing the ‘magical’ moments we’ve created with our clients. From zoo outings to visits to boat museums and garden centres, each snapshot represented cherished activities and experiences we’ve facilitated for them.
One of our clients, 89-year-old Beryl, joined us for the special high tea served during the visit. Beryl, who worked at ‘Woolworths’ for most of her life, shared with the Mayor how much she appreciates the care she receives. Her face lights up whenever our Care Professionals dress up to hand-deliver Julie’s home-baked cakes. An Easter Bunny visit dropping off cake and an Easter egg was one of her fondest memories.
The Lord Mayor remarked:
“I had a lovely day and what a happy place to visit with such a warm, inviting welcome. The atmosphere was so lovely I could see how caring the Radfield team is with the clients that were also there. I really enjoyed finding out about the way Radfield work and all of the different things they do for their clients.”
Julie added:
“We’re incredibly proud of what we do and the difference we are making to older people’s lives here in Chester and Ellesmere Port with the Radfield recipe for care, Be There. It was a delight to welcome the Lord Mayor to our offices to share some of our special stories, our memory wall of photographs and a slice of my home baked cakes.”
